Four Hands, One Voice: Notes from a Duet Recital

Two pianists seated together at a grand piano

Sharing a piano is a different kind of listening. Two players, one keyboard, and a score that only works when the hands agree on time, tone, and the small silences between phrases.

A duet asks both pianists to give up a little ground. Pedaling becomes a shared decision. Entrances are negotiated in a breath. The reward is a sound neither player can make alone.
