In 2016, Christina Bray, then Christina Guibas, received her real estate salespersons license and joined the Coldwell Banker office in Arlington, Massachusetts. She gained her bearings first as a rental agent, working with Coldwell Banker's relocation division, and closed close to thirty rental transactions her first year in the business. Soon after, she met a local commercial lender who introduced her to the world of property investment. Under his mentorship, she became fully versed in property analysis from a bank's perspective, accessing NOI, CAP rate, and cash-flow analysis. It was the confluence of these two worlds, mainstream investment strategy and the shifting rental markets of greater Boston, that allowed Christina to develop a unique method of investing which would combine the strategies of buy-and-hold with short-term flips, and analytically predict the towns where the best investment opportunities would be found. In 2011, Christina put her strategy to the test and purchased a one-bedroom condo in Beverly, Massachusetts. With little property improvement, she then sold that condo in 2024 (only three years later) for a profit of $123,000. Over the years, Christina has developed a book of investor clients and advises them on an on-going basis.
Christina listed and assisted in the purchase of a number of residential homes, and each came with its own unique and complex hurdles - foreclosures, shut-downs by the board of health, divorce, estate sales, probate, relocating buyers, and inter-state and international sellers, just to name a few. She also has the knowledge and vocabulary of the luxury market with a keen eye for detail, making her a valuable asset for home-owners or developers looking to sell a unique property, or one with a more refined buyer pool. Christina has a knack for pricing and often excels at the challenge of taking on and repositioning stale listings. She often consults for home-owners or developers in their design decisions long before they are in a position to sell.
In 2021, Christina obtained her real estate brokers license, and in 2024 she changed brokerages, moving to J. Barrett Realty in Beverly, MA - a firm that is firmly rooted in the inner workings of the North Shore real estate market.
Christina Maria Bray, née Guibas, received her Masters in piano performance along with the Mary Ellis Smith prize in 2013 from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Throughout undergraduate and graduate school, her primary studies were with the late Ludmilla Lifson (former faculty of the Leningrad State Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, Russia). Post-graduate school, Bray continued her studies briefly with Tufts Music Faculty and Mozarteum graduate Thomas Stumpf.
Bray taught privately for a decade, and as a member of the piano faculty at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts from 2014 through 2017. She has served on numerous boards including the New England Piano Teachers Association as their 20th and 21st century recital chair, the Bridge at 211 in Salem, a large 19th century architectural landmark slotted to serve as a future performance hub for the greater North Shore, and her current seat as Vice President of the Paul Madore Chorale, where she is also the pianist for the group. She regularly collaborates with musicians throughout greater Boston, and substitutes for church musicians in various local churches.
Christina Bray married her husband Preston in 2024 and they now live in Manchester-by-the-sea with their cat Sebo. They are ballroom dance students of Champion Dance Sport in Everett, MA where they are working towards a Ballroom competition in the Spring of 2025. Christina Bray is a huge advocate of Stott Pilates, Yoga, and an anti-inflammatory lifestyle.
