From 2019 to 2025 I was the staff pianist for the Paul Madore Chorale. Rehearsals were a weekly education in breath, text, and the patience of a large group finding one sound.
Choral piano is not a solo with people standing behind it. The choir leads. The pianist keeps the pitch honest, the tempo steady, and the harmony clear enough that every section can find its note.
